Lawrence Grinds Out Rivalry Win Against Skowhegan Girl’s Basketball

Lawrence Beats Skowhegan 47-38

With the Bulldogs leading 10-7 after the first quarter, Madalyn Provost was scoreless. She scored 12 points in the 2nd quarter and pushed Lawrence to a 29-14 lead.

Skowhegan trimmed the lead to 8 late in the 3rd quarter but Lawrence went on a 10-0 run to close the 3rd and open the 4th quarter. The River Hawks won the 2nd half 24-18 but couldn’t overcome that big Bulldogs’ 2nd quarter despite numerous trips to the free throw line.

#1 Madalyn Provost tied for game high 17 points (also had 6 assists)

#22 Nadia Morrison 12 points and 7 blocks (nearly a triple double with rebounds)

Lawrence outrebounded the River Hawks 41-25.

The Bulldogs were 3-4 from the Free Throw Line, none in the 2nd half.

 

Skowhegan

#22 Anabelle Morris 17 points (7-12 from the Free Throw Line)

#32 Allie Frey 9 points

Skowhegan was 12-23 from the Free Throw Line.

The River Hawks had 10 turnovers to the Bulldogs’ 9.
