5/12/2023 MCI Swipes Game at Winslow

MCI might have left Winslow with one of the bases from Nivision Diamond as they stole 15 bases against the Black Raiders. The Huskies had a lot of traffic on the base paths as they left 13 on but still were able to plate enough for the 10-1 win.

In two matchups MCI has beaten Winslow by a combined 24-5.

Andrew Poulin came into the game with an ERA over 9 but was able to weather the storm for the first three innings, despite five walks, one hit batsmen and four wild pitches.

Poulin finished with six strikeouts, five walks, four hits and five runs given up in four innings of work for the loss.

The Black Raiders had some solid defense to start the game.

However, the mistakes started to add up as the team finished with five errors. Tyler Nadeau pitched three innings of relief and had four strikeouts, two walks, one hit batsman, and four earned runs with another unearned.

Conner Marquis came in with a 2.21 ERA in 19 innings for MCI and was able to control the Winslow offense.

Marqui went five innings with only two hits surrendered, five walks, and four strikeouts before back-to-back walks chased him off the mound in the 6th inning. Owen Moore got out of the inning with no runs surrended, aided by a great individual play by second baseman Braeden Kennedy.

Winslow was able to break the shutout in the bottom of the seventh on an RBI ground out by Andrew Poulin. Tucker Pomerleau was 2-3. The Black Raiders only managed four hits on the day.

Joseph Parker went 3-5 on the day with two RBI and a strike out for MCI. Owen Moore was only 1-4 with a walk, strikeout, and reaching on error but had three RBI and scored three times. Carter Bubar was also 1-2 with two walks and two runs scored.

MCI moves to 2-6 and travels to Erskine Acadmey on Monday.
Winslow falls to 0-9 and plays at Nokomis on Monday.
